Rediscover Door-Stop 2.026 | A New Chapter Built on Experience

Last Updated on March 17, 2026 by Emily Hartley

If you have worked with The Trade Village for any length of time, you will know that our relationship with Door Stop is not a new one.

In fact, we were there right at the beginning.

Back in 2008, when the brand first entered the market, we became their first customer. At the time, the composite door sector looked very different to how it does today. The market was still developing and Door Stop quickly became one of the products that helped shape it.

Since then, both businesses have grown significantly. Like most long-standing partnerships in the trade, the journey hasn’t been a straight line. There have been successes, lessons learned and moments where both sides have had to adapt.

But one thing has always remained consistent for us.

When a product is right for the market, and when the people behind it are prepared to improve it, progress follows.

A Product That Has Continued to Evolve

Over the past couple of years, a number of refinements have been introduced within the Door Stop range. Many of these changes focus on the areas that installers care about most, such as reliability, consistency and ease of installation.

Some of the key updates include:

  • New hinge system
SFS Dynamic 2D-C hinges are now fitted as standard, designed to improve load handling and reduce the risk of sagging over time.
  • Refined door sizing
Improved manufacturing tolerances mean doors arrive with better alignment, reducing the amount of adjustment required on site.
  • Redesigned thresholds
Updated threshold designs improve screw retention and provide stronger base stability during installation.
  • Enhanced production controls
Additional quality checks have been introduced prior to dispatch to help improve product consistency.
  • Improved delivery performance
Current on-time delivery is operating at around 99%, helping installers plan jobs with greater confidence.

None of these changes are headline features designed for brochures. They are practical improvements aimed at making the product perform more consistently where it matters most… on site.

Why ‘Rediscover’ Is the Right Word

Many installers already know Door Stop.

Some have used it for years. Others may have stepped away during the more challenging period the industry experienced after COVID.

That is why the word ‘rediscover’ feels appropriate.

This isn’t about introducing a completely new product. It’s about recognising that the systems, processes and people behind it have continued to develop.

Sometimes the best way to evaluate any product is simply to see how it performs today.

Our message is simple: Take another look.

Not because of clever marketing, but because the product and the processes behind it have moved forward.

Ultimately, the only opinion that really matters is the one formed during installation.

And that judgement happens on site.
