Door-Stop in 2026 | What’s Changed?

Last Updated on March 17, 2026 by Emily Hartley

It’s the question we have been asked more than any other over the past year…

“Has it really changed?”

And closely behind it comes another:

“Does Door-Stop still have a place in your range?”

These are fair questions.

Trust in this industry is not rebuilt through brochures or marketing claims. It is rebuilt through experience.

So the honest answer is YES! Things have changed and Door-Stop does have a place in our 2026 portfolio.

Looking Back

We have worked with Door-Stop since 2008. Over that time we have seen the brand evolve through every stage of its development.

The past few years tested the confidence of many installers. Product consistency and communication created frustration across the market.

We experienced those challenges too.

But over the past couple of years we have seen meaningful changes take place.

Watching the Changes

Mechanical improvements have been introduced across the range, including new hinge systems, refined sizing tolerances and redesigned thresholds.

At the same time, operational processes around production, delivery and customer support have been strengthened.

These are not dramatic changes designed for marketing purposes. They are refinements to the areas that historically caused frustration.

Where Door-Stop Fits in the Market

Door-Stop has never been positioned as a premium composite door.

That has never been its role.

Instead it occupies an important position as a cost-effective GRP composite door that delivers reliable performance at a sensible price point.

For installers working on price-conscious projects, rental properties or secondary entrances such as back doors, it remains a practical and margin-friendly solution.

Why It Still Belongs in Our Range

When we review products for our portfolio we ask three simple questions.

Does the product serve a genuine need?

Can it be supported properly?

Is the manufacturer committed to improvement?

After working alongside Door-Stop for the past two years the answer to all three is yes.

Combined with the systems we have built at The Trade Village, we believe the proposition remains strong.

Looking Ahead

If you have never fitted a Door-Stop door or not fitted one for a while, there is no better time than now to try!

Because the only real way to judge whether things have changed is to see how it performs on site today.
